Kerala low-alcohol liquor: Archbishop Pamplany welcomes CM’s decision for detailed discussions

Thalassery (Kerala): Thalassery Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplany has welcomed the stance taken by Chief Minister V D Satheesan regarding the state’s controversial new liquor policy. The Archbishop stated that the Chief Minister's decision to defer the matter for detailed discussions is highly commendable and reflects respect for the sentiments of the general public.
Archbishop Pamplany emphasised that at a time when anti-narcotic and anti-liquor campaigns are gaining strong momentum across Kerala, no stakeholder should adopt a stance that appears to promote or support substance abuse.
He further added that the determination shown by the Chief Minister to reject the motives of those trying to create a crisis in the state under the guise of the liquor policy is truly laudable.
