Easter 2026: Kerala governor, CM and opposition leader share messages of hope

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Leader of the Opposition V D Satheesan on Saturday extended Easter greetings to the people of the state, underscoring the values of hope, love, resilience and renewal associated with the festival.

In his Easter message, Arlekar said the festival serves as a reminder of the enduring power of hope, compassion and renewal through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“May this sacred festival inspire us to foster harmony, extend kindness to those in need, and work together for a more inclusive and peaceful society,” he said.

 
 

Chief Minister Vijayan noted that Easter carries the timeless message that goodness and love can overcome adversity, and that truth ultimately prevails. He described the occasion as a symbol of humanity and compassion triumphing over injustice.

Calling on people to uphold the spirit of Easter, the Chief Minister urged citizens to remain strong during challenging times, stand for peace, and become a source of positive energy in society. He also appealed for collective progress towards a new dawn, guided by hope and unity.

 
 

Meanwhile, Satheesan said Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ after enduring suffering and crucifixion for the redemption of humanity’s sins. He added that the teachings of Christ inspire people to transform sorrow into joy through faith and perseverance.

 
 

The Opposition leader said the festival should also serve as a moment of personal renewal and resurgence for individuals overcoming hardships.
