Wedding with a cause: Newlyweds submit eye donation consent forms in Kottayam

Thalappalam (Kottayam): A newlywed couple, Sarath and Sreelakshmi, submitted their eye donation consent forms at their wedding venue. They handed the forms to Anu Subhash, District Vice President of Samadrishti Kshamata Vikas Evam Anusandhan Mandal (SAKSHAM).

The consent forms were formally submitted at the Siva Parvathy Auditorium in Puliyannoor following the wedding ceremony on Sunday.

Inspired by SAKSHAM’s initiatives, Sarath had expressed his interest in eye donation to the bride during their engagement. Upon Sreelakshmi’s positive response, Sarath informed Anu Subhash about their decision.

Along with the consent forms, the couple also handed over Mangala Nidhi (wedding donations) to Seva Bharathi and SAKSHAM as a gesture of support.

Chithra Saji, Sarath’s mother, is a member of the Thalappalam Panchayat.

The consent form submission event was overseen by N. Sreejith, State Joint Secretary; E.J. Vijayakumar, Taluk President; and Geetha Shiji, Secretary.
