Toddler dies after alleged anaesthesia-related complication during treatment in Kerala

Kannur, Kerala: A toddler died after suffering alleged brain damage following the administration of anaesthesia during treatment at a private hospital in Payyanur on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Devansh Shaurya, aged one year and five months, the son of Suraj and Vijisha, residents of Eramam in Kannur district.

The child had sustained facial injuries while playing a few days ago. He suffered a cut between his lower lip and chin and was taken to the private hospital for treatment. According to reports, the toddler developed brain damage after being administered anaesthesia for stitches to the wound.

He had been undergoing treatment since the incident but succumbed to his injuries on Friday.
