Police detain suspect in Kadinamkulam murder, hospitalized due to alleged poison consumption

Thiruvananthapuram: A suspect has been detained in connection with the murder of a 30-year-old woman, Athira, in Kadinamkulam. The police have taken Johnson, the victim's Instagram acquaintance, into custody from Kurichy of Chingavanam in Kottayam. However, Johnson was later transferred to Kottayam Medical College Hospital after displaying signs of uneasiness and and reports that he consumed poison. Due to his health condition, the police have yet to take a statement from him.

Initially, the police had taken Athira's husband into custody for questioning. However, further investigation shifted the focus to Johnson, the victim's friend.

Johnson, who worked as a home nurse in Kurichy, was detained while attempting to flee after consuming poison, fearing police arrest. The investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding Athira's death.
