Taking strong exception to Akash Thillankeri's jeep journey flouting all traffic rules, the Kerala High Court on Tuesday observed that a person accused in several criminal cases has again violated the law. It also directed the Motor Vehicle Department to seize the jeep immediately.

The court ordered that the vehicle should be taken into custody immediately as many violations of the law, including modification, have been committed in that vehicle.

The court also assessed that there were many violations in the vehicle. Tyres are larger than permitted. Besides unauthorised modification, the vehicle has no number plate issued either. It is also clear in the video that Akash Tillankeri is driving without wearing a seat belt. After the video went viral, the court asked the Motor Vehicle Department to seize the vehicle and take action.

Taking into account the criminal background of Akash Thillankeri, the High Court has taken suo motu action after examining the video. The Motor Vehicle Department is already planning to file a case against Akash Thillankeri on the grounds that the vehicle has no registration number, has been modified and driver Akash Tillankeri was not wearing a seatbelt. This is followed by the instruction of the High Court.

On the other day, Akash Thillankeri rode a jeep at Panamaram in Wayanad district. It has been found that the vehicle is owned by Sulaiman, a resident of Morayur in Malappuram and the registration number is KL 10 BB 3724.

The journey became controversial when Akash Thillankeri shared his Instagram reel. In the video, the vehicle is being driven on the Panamaram-Mananthavadi road through Panamaram Town, Nellarat Kavala and Aryannoornada.

It is clear that the tyres of the vehicle have been changed. The scene was captured by those who were traveling with him in another luxury vehicle. In the preliminary investigation, it was found that there are similar cases in the name of the same vehicle.

In October 2023, an e-challan was sent to the vehicle owner from Wayanad itself. There are also cases pending in court.

After checking the AI camera footage also, a case will be registered and further action will be taken, RTO KR Suresh had said.
