Set up special committees to remove illegal hoardings from roads: Kerala HC

Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Wednesday directed concerned authorities to set up special committees under every local self-government body to remove illegal flex boards, hoardings, and banners in public places such as the roadsides and medians.

The court issued an interim order after hearing a plea seeking the removal of unauthorised hoardings, flags and banners from roads in Kerala. 

A special committee should also be set up at the district level to monitor the committees at the local level. The court will review the activities of the committees, said Justice Devan Ramachandran.
