KSRTC MD Biju Prabhakar intends to resign as Kerala govt fails to provide help to pay salaries
Thiruvananthapuram: As the salary crisis continues to intensify in the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Biju Prabhakar has asked the state government to remove him from the charge of the corporation. He has reportedly informed the government about his willingness to step down from the post.
Prabhakar stated that the government was not ready to aid the corporation for paying the salaries and added that he will reveal more about KSRTC’s crisis through Facebook. Meanwhile, Kerala Transport Minister Antony Raju said that the government has not been informed about the CMD’s decision to resign.
He further criticised that employee organisations, including CITU, to have placed all the blame on him and the management. Earlier, Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) activists had carried out a march to Biju Prabhakar’s residence the other day.

“There are several cases in the high court over the delay in distributing salary and pension in the KSRTC. In those cases, the court has brutally slammed the CMD and the management. All these frequent setbacks are forcing me to quit the post,” he added.
In addition, Prabhakar stated that facts including the financial condition of the KSRTC will be revealed through Facebook in a series of five episodes, starting from Saturday at 6 pm.
