Kochi: The Kerala government on Wednesday moved the Kerala High Court seeking to cancel the interim bail granted to IG G Lakshman, accused in the Monson Mavunkal-linked fraud case. The move comes as Lakshman not skipped quizzing despite issuing notices to him to appear for questioning.

Earlier, the court, which had granted Lakshman interim anticipatory bail had directed him to cooperate with the investigation. The court further added that he can be summoned for interrogation after serving a prior notice.

However, the government in its petition pointed out Lakshman violated the court order by failing to appear for questioning and his reasons for the same were not at all genuine.

Meanwhile, the IG’s petition seeking to cancel the case is also pending before the court.
