Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has finally approved all pending bills. The cleared bills include the Land Assignment Bill, Kerala Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill, Abkari Law Amendment Bill,  Paddy Wetland Amendment Bill, and the Diary Cooperation Bill. The Governor’s move comes right after the conclusion of the Lok Sabha polls in the state.

As of now, the Governor has cleared all the bills passed by the Legislative Assembly. The Pinarayi government and Arif Khan were earlier at loggerheads when the latter had refused to sign the above bills.

In the context of the latest development, the Governor's relation with the ruling party is expected to improve in the coming days.

Earlier, things had taken an ugly turn when the Governor refused to sign the bills, especially the Land Assignment Bill. In a bid to find a solution, the issue was dragged to the courts.

However, Arif Khan’s latest actions are expected to put an end to the tensions.

Shutting down the allegations that the bills were approved right after the conclusion of the polls, Arif Khan said that he had actually signed on the bills a few days ago. “It is just that the news came out now. Since I had received a lot of complaints regarding the bills, it took longer to approve them,” said the Governor.
