Kerala set to roll out welfare pensions July 24 onwards

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal has announced that the much-anticipated social security and welfare fund pensions, which have been pending, will be distributed July 24 onwards. 

The government has allocated Rs 900 crore to ensure each beneficiary receives Rs 1,600. Dues of previous months are being paid every month since March 2024. However, if this month is also taken into account, a total of five months arrears remain to be paid to the beneficiaries. Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan assured that these arrears will be fully cleared within the next two years.
