Thiruvananthapuram: Vijayan Thomas, who resigned from the post of KPCC general secretary the other day, declared that he will not quit Congress. He also called off the press meet scheduled on Monday.

“I will sort out all problems with the party and travel across the state for the party’s victory in the polls,” said Vijayan Thomas.

“I resigned from the post of KPCC general secretary disappointed with the party’s activities and groupism,” said Vijayan Thomas after his resignation.

Meanwhile, sources close to the party reported that he resigned from the post protesting over not getting Nemom seat. There are rumours that he will join another party.

But Vijayan Thomas has dismissed all these rumours and declared his support to Congress.

“BJP and CPM are major enemies of Congress. Both parties are birds of a feather. I have tendered my resignation protesting against the internal politics of Congress. CPM cyber warriors misinterpreted this as my plans to join BJP,” said Vijayan Thomas.

He also condemned the rumours and termed it shameful.

After resigning from KPCC general secretary post, Vijayan Thomas informed that he will declare his stance after summoning a press meet. But other leaders intervened in the issue and appeased him to continue in the party.
