New Delhi: In a major relief for K. Sudhakaran, the Congress leadership has reportedly expressed satisfaction with his performance as KPCC state president. According to latest reports, he will continue as KPCC president for another tenure. The decision comes amidst speculation that Sudhakaran might step down and be replaced by a younger leader.

Despite the All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) call for reorganization and reports of internal discussions about leadership changes, Sudhakaran had previously made it clear that he had no intention of stepping down.

Sudhakaran also dismissed speculation about his replacement as mere rumours.” He emphasized that the party should focus on filling key vacant positions and strengthening its base in preparation for the upcoming local body and assembly elections rather than leadership changes.

Earlier, former BJP leader Sandeep Varier, who joined the Congress ahead of the by-elections in Palakkad, was reportedly recommended for a key position in the party. However, Sudhakaran dismissed these rumours as media speculation. His statement came in response to AICC General Secretary Deepa Dasmunshi’s indications that the high command is considering a complete restructuring of the KPCC, with a focus on introducing younger leadership and addressing organisational gaps.
