Kerala Chief minister VD Satheesan visits Guruvayur temple, offers Tulabharam

Guruvayur: Kerala Chief Minister VD Satheesan visited Guruvayur Temple on Sunday morning and offered Tulabharam. The Chief Minister arrived by car in front of the Sreevatsam Guest House at 6:40 am and attended the wedding ceremony of Revenue Minister AP Anil Kumar’s son. Though the wedding rituals had concluded, he spent around 10 minutes with the bride and groom, blessing them and posing for photographs.
He entered the temple at 6:50 am. Before entering the metal detector at the eastern gopuram entrance, he changed into traditional attire — a cream mundu and removed his shirt with blue stripes for temple entry. The temple was observing the Seeveli ritual at the time.
At the Sopanam, he offered butter and kadali bananas and received prasadam from the chief priest. After the darshan, he performed Tulabharam using butter and holy water. He exited the temple at 7:35 am and broke a coconut before the eastern entrance Ganapathy shrine as part of his prayers.
District Collector Shikha Surendran, Devaswom Chairman VK Gopinathan and Administrator OB Arun Kumar received the Chief Minister at Sreevatsam.
VD Satheesan is the first Chief Minister to enter Guruvayur Temple after K Karunakaran. Devotees inside and outside the temple greeted him with cheers and applause, expressing their affection and support.
