Cherthala (Alappuzha): In a touching tale of enduring love, Rameshan and Omana, residents of Cherthala, proved that love remains unshaken even in the face of adversity. When Rameshan was injured in an accident and was left bedridden, the couple initially considered postponing their wedding. However, with all the arrangements already in place, they decided to go ahead as planned. On the auspicious day, Rameshan tied the knot around Omana’s neck while seated on his bed.

The unforeseen accident occurred while preparations for the marriage of Rameshan (65) and Omana (55), from Cherthala, were underway. On October 15, Rameshan, a carpenter at Mathilakam Hospital in Cherthala, was cycling when a motorbike collided with him, leaving him with a broken leg. He received treatment at Kottayam Medical College and later at Cherthala Taluk Hospital.

Although they initially considered postponing the ceremony due to the accident, the couple chose to go ahead with the wedding since all arrangements had been finalised. This marks their second marriage. The simple wedding took place on October 25 at Rameshan’s residence.

Rameshan was brought home from the hospital for the occasion. From his bed, he tied the knot around Omana’s neck, and the couple exchanged garlands. The ceremony was attended only by close relatives from both families. Former MP A.M. Arif was also present at the wedding.
