Sabarimala issue will be resolved after holding talks, says SRP

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai has promised an amicable solution to Sabarimala issue in the state. He stated that CPM has decided to hold talks with all groups of society after the Supreme Court pronounces the verdict on the appeal in the entry of women to Sabarimala.

The political parties should consider all experiences relating to the issue. CPM has considered the incidents experienced during the bid to implement the SC verdict, said SRP to Mathrubhumi News.

"The party will approach the assembly polls with great confidence. The candidates must have good public support. Youth, experienced people and experts in various field must come forward as candidates. The party will field candidates who have public acceptance. This time, CPM will avoid candidates who are contesting the polls continuously,” said SRP.

He added that CPM has close links with community groups like NSS and SNDP. He pointed out that the party has taken the same approach towards each group.

At the same time, the CPM leader also condemned Congress leader K Sudhakaran’s unsavoury remarks against Chief Minister. He added that the democratic people of India will disown the statement.
