Palakkad: A woman has lodged a sexual harassment complaint against BJP state vice-president C Krishnakumar, sending it to party state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar. The complaint comes a day after Congress veteran and Opposition Leader VD Satheesan warned of potential explosive political revelations in Kerala, as the Congress faces scrutiny over women harassment allegations against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil.

Mamkootathil was elected in the Palakkad byelection in which Krishnakumar had contested as a BJP candidate and emerged runner up. The new allegation has heightened political tensions in the state.

Complaint sent to BJP chief

The woman sent her complaint via email to Chandrasekhar’s office, stating that previous approaches to senior party officials and the RSS office had yielded no resolution. She said this prompted her to escalate the matter to the state president. Rajeev Chandrasekhar is currently in Bengaluru. His office has responded to the complainant, stating that necessary action will be taken once he returns.

Krishnakumar denies allegation

C Krishnakumar has denied the sexual harassment claim, asserting that it is linked to a property dispute. He told Mathrubhumi News that a similar complaint had been filed against him previously, and in 2023, the court had ruled in his favour.
