Thiruvananthapuram: Finally, the State Government is set to take action against ADGP M R Ajith Kumar. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's decision to save the government's face by abandoning his loyalist came after the CPM leadership took a stand that the party need not bear the burden of the meeting of the ADGP with RSS leaders. It is reported that a letter has been given by the ADGP, requesting to relieve him from duty. However, there is no official confirmation in this regard.

The government should also think of an arrangement so that Ajith Kumar, after being removed from the post of Law and Order, could take over a new role soon after his leave. Further action would be taken on the basis of the investigation report being prepared by a team, led by the DGP, on the disclosures of MLA P V Anvar.

Meanwhile, the CPM wants to politically counter the Opposition's allegations of the party colluding with the BJP in Thrissur. That is why, leaders, including PB members, strongly attacked the Opposition. However, on the matter of meetings between ADGP and RSS leaders, the party has decided not to go on attacking mode. The decision on this issue which created a political crisis was left to the Chief Minister.

Action may also be taken against Sasi

Action against Chief Minister's Political Secretary P Sasi is also possible. The CPI has demanded that he be removed from the Chief Minister's Office and the government. The CPI also rejected the CPM’s argument that the party has not received the complaint, stating that it is technical and the complaint is before the public. It is learned that the CPM leadership has informed the CPI leaders that an organisational review is underway.

CPI holds discussions with Chief Minister

Besides CPM state secretary M V Govindan, CPI counterpart Binoy Viswam also held discussions with the Chief Minister on controversial issues. Binoy Viswam urged him to take the problems affecting the government's image seriously. The CPI has received an assurance that there will be action at the administrative level.

Ajith Kumar will meet the same fate of Sujith Das: Anvar

Ruling MLA Anvar also alleged that ADGP Ajith Kumar is going on leave to destroy evidence against him. “Ajith Kumar will meet the same fate as of Sujith Das. Ajith Kumar needs to be fired. There is nothing to say politically about Chief Minister's political secretary P Sasi. There is no more reaction on political issues,” Anvar added.
