UDF candidate who took actress Anusree for campaign loses

Pathanamthitta: UDF candidate Rinoy Varghese who took actress Anusree for campaigning lost miserably in the local self-government polls. Rinoy who contested from 12th ward of Chenneerkkara panchayat was defeated by LDF candidate MR Madhu.

Actress Anusree attended a family meet organised as part of the election campaign of UDF.

LDF candidate Madhu who secured 411 votes won by 11 votes. The UDF candidate only secured 132 votes while independent candidate Ranjan Puthanpurakkal obtained 400 votes. BJP candidate R Pramod secured 13 votes at the 12th ward of Chenneerkkara panchayat.

UDF was hopeful to gain more votes after taking the actress for the campaign.

The actress addressed the family meet of UDF in the ward. She also found time to take selfie with her huge number of fans who flocked the family meet.

Addressing the event, Anusree stated that she decided to campaign for Rinoy as she has a longtime friendship with him.

She also appealed to the voters to vote for Rinoy assuring that the UDF candidate will do his best for the welfare of the people.
