LSG Polls: Fronts all set to select candidates by Tuesday

Thiruvananthapuram: LDF, UDF and NDA have started preparations to win the Local Self Gvernment elections in December. Rather than politcal arguments, Kerala politics is witnessing much heat over investigations.
Meanwhile, the front leaders know that popularity and intervention in public life will be crucial in the elections. Hence, LDF, UDF and NDA have planned to field candidates with these qualities. It is reported that the political fronts will complete the candidate selection process within Tuesday.
LDF
LDF is confident after announcing candidates for most of the wards. The LDF meet on Tuesday will approve the election manifesto. A sub-committee appointed for this purpose has prepared the draft of election manifesto after holding talks.
A separate election manifesto for each ward will also be released. For the polls, LDF will announce a slogan declaring protest against communalism and upholding development. Local committees are in-charge of the campaign. General proposals regarding the campaign will be submitted for approval to the state committee.
Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, LDF has planned for online election campaign with virtual rally and WhatsApp family meetings.
UDF
UDF has successfully completed sharing of seats without much trouble and arguments. It is reported that UDF will select candidates for all seats within 2 days. Meetings were summoned under senior leaders in each district to discuss on candidature.
Meanwhile, UDF did not give chance to the local leaders who came out with claims over the elections. UDF is also preparing state level and local level election manifesto. The election manifesto prepared by a committee headed by CP John will be approved on Tuesday.
At the same time, UDF has created separate groups on social media with each ally. The leadership has directed that each member should be vigilant while interacting through these groups.
NDA
BJP is examining votes which they have chances to win in the polls. Each vote will prove BJP’s strength in the political battle. BJP has recommended that each candidate should contest on the official symbol of lotus. Through this proposal, BJP aims to confirm more votes. NDA aims to win power in Thiruvananthapuram corporation and a maximum number of wards in the state.
Preparations are initiated to prepare election manifesto based on the regional subjects. NDA has selected candidates for all wards in Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha. BJP has directed the local committees to select all candidates before the commencement of filing nomination.
