PV Chandran to be honoured with prestigious Kelappaji Award

Guruvayur: The 2023 Kelappaji Award, presented by the Guruvayur Temple Entry Satyagraha Memorial Committee, will be awarded to P V Chandran, Chairman and Managing Editor of ‘Mathrubhumi’. 

The award, which includes Rs 11,111 in cash, a sculpture, a certificate of honour and a ceremonial shawl, will be presented during a function on November 2, marking the 93rd anniversary of the Guruvayur Satyagraha, according to Mounayogi Dr A Harinarayanan, chairman of the Guruvayur Temple Entry Satyagraha Memorial Committee, and Convenor Shaju Puthur.

The award committee members, Dr M Leelavathi, C Radhakrishnan and Dr  P V Krishnan Nair, highlighted P V Chandran's invaluable contributions over more than five decades, both as the leader of ‘Mathrubhumi’ in its alignment with the national movement and as a significant presence in the commercial and service sectors.
