KSRTC employees to receive salaries on 1st of every month: KB Ganesh Kumar

Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar on Wednesday announced that from now on every KSRTC employees will receive their salaries on the first day of each month.

"All arrangements have been made to implement this," he stated during the inauguration of the new Emergency Medical Unit at Thampanoor KSRTC Central Bus Station.

The minister also pointed out improvements they plan within KSRTC over the next six months. He mentioned that efforts to rent out canteen facilities had not succeeded as they could not find suitable companies. He said that good hotels are selected to provide meals for travellers instead.

"Passengers and crew can now access the emergency medical unit at Thampanoor Bus Station. This 24-hour unit provides primary care services, free of cost," he said.

"The facility, developed by KSRTC in partnership with the Society for Emergency Medicine India and NIMS Medicity, will extend to 14 bus stations," he added.

Cultural and safety awareness initiatives

Minister Ganesh Kumar also released a song based on KSRTC, written and composed by driver Baiju Iringallur from the Kozhikode depot. The song is composed by singer G Venugopal.

A short film titled 'Double Bell', to raise awareness about road safety and accident prevention, produced by the Thalassery unit, was also launched during the event.

Dr. Shiju Stanley, State President of the Society for Emergency Medicine India, MS Faizal Khan, NIMS Medicity MD, and KSRTC MD, Pramoj Shankar also attended the event.
