Kattakada murder: JCB driver surrenders before police

Kattakada: The JCB driver who killed the land owner with the bucket of the vehicle surrendered before the police on Friday morning. JCB driver Vijin had gone underground immediately after the incident but later surrendered before the police on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sangeeth from Ambalathinkala.

Sangeeth was hit on his head by a JCB bucket by a gang of criminals when they were questioned about their excavation work. Irritated at being questioned, the JCB driver hit him on his head with the bucket of the vehicle. Earlier, soil was dug from Sangeeth’s land with his permission. The gang of 4 members had reached Sangeeth’s property without his permission now.

The incident took place at 2.30 in the morning on Friday.

The remaining culprits are absconding and the police have begun search to nab them.
