Kasargod CU Asst. Professor Efhikar Ahmed booked in another sexual assault case

Kannur: An assistant professor at Kasaragod Central University has been arrested for sexually assaulting a woman at a water theme park here. 

Dr B Efthikar Ahmed of the English Department was arrested by the Thaliparamba Police following a complaint filed by a Malappuram native woman.  He was later remanded by the court. 

Efthikar Ahmed of Eripuram in Pazhayangadi has another case filed against him by the Bekal Police for sexually assaulting one of his girl students on the university campus a few months ago. Following his arrest he was suspended from the university but reinstated only recently.

The water theme incident took place at around 3 pm on Monday. As per the woman’s complaint, Efthikar Ahmed groped her while playing in the artificial tides at the park. The authorities, who reached the spot on hearing her screams, informed the police. 

A case under Prevention of Atrocities on Women Act has been filed against him.
