Kannur ADM death case: Late officer’s daughter gets govt job under relief scheme

Pathanamthitta, Kerala: The Revenue Department has issued an order granting a government job to Niranjana N. Nair, the daughter of late Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Naveen Babu, who was found dead in Kannur last year.

The appointment has been made under the state government's compassionate employment scheme. Niranjana has been offered a position in the Food Safety Department.

Earlier this month, the state cabinet had decided to provide a government job to a member of Naveen Babu's family.

Death of ADM and ongoing CBI probe

Naveen Babu was found dead at his official quarters in Pallikunnu, Kannur, on October 15, 2024.

His death came shortly after a farewell function at the Collectorate, where then Kannur District Panchayat president and CPM leader P.P. Divya publicly criticised him. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the case related to Naveen Babu's death.
