Thiruvananthapuram: Kallambalam native Sreelakshmi, whose marriage was postponed following the murder of her father, tied the knot on Friday around 9.30 am at Sivagiri, Varkala. The wedding was attended only by close relatives and friends. The groom is a native of Cherunniyoor, Thiruvananthapuram.

Her father Raju (62) had taken around Rs 10 lakh loan from the cooperative bank. However, locals have pooled in some funds to aid the bereaved family.

Raju, was bludgeoned to death by four people including his daughter’s ex-friend Jishnu on June 28, in the wee hours. The assailants who fled from the crime spot were later arrested by the Kallambalam police from Varkala.

Sreelakshmi and Jishnu's marriage was planned earlier, but was called off later due to certain reasons. Apparently, personal grudge over the same led to the murder.
