K Surendran and Anil Antony named BJP national secretaries; AP Abdullakutty dropped

New Delhi: The BJP has announced its new national office-bearers. Kerala leaders K Surendran and Anil Antony have been appointed national secretaries.

The list includes eight national general secretaries, including Smriti Irani, Biplab Kumar Deb and Sunil Bansal.

There had been reports that the party would be reorganised under new national president Nitin Nabin, with new faces being brought into key positions. The announcement of the new office-bearers comes in this context.

The list has 13 national vice-presidents, including Vasundhara Raje. A.P. Abdullakutty, who was a national vice-president, has been dropped from the new list. B.L. Santosh has been retained as the national general secretary (organisation).
