Thiruvananthapuram: Mariyam Rasheeda has come up with an allegation against former Special Branch CI S Vijayan, an accused in ISRO espionage conspiracy case. She alleged that Vijayan tried to misbehave with her and that he trapped her in the espionage case as she opposed his move. Mariyam Rasheeda levelled this allegation in the petition filed in the Thiruvananthapuram district court.

Former DGP Siby Mathews, who is also an accused in the conspiracy case, had filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Thiruvananthapuram district court. Mariyam Rasheeda, who was named accused in the espionage case, filed the petition opposing this plea. She made the revelations in this petition.

Mariyam Rasheeda revealed that she could not return in the flight to Maldives as planned. Following this, she stayed in a hotel. She met S Vijayan while visiting the commissioner’s office for extending visa period. After two days, he asked her to meet him. Later, he came to her room and tried to misbehave with her, according to her statement.

Annoyed over his move, Mariyam Rasheeda beat him and drove him away from the room. Following this, he arrested her and trapped in the espionage case, she revealed in the petition. The IB officials tortured her brutally after arrest. They beat her with a chair while she was in the custody, Rasheeda stated in the petition.
