Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: A young woman filmmaker has filed a complaint against a senior and prominent director, alleging misbehaviour during the IFFK selection screening.

According to the complaint submitted to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the director behaved in a derogatory and inappropriate manner toward her at a hotel in Thiruvananthapuram. She alleged that his conduct insulted her womanhood and amounted to serious misconduct.

The Chief Minister’s Office has forwarded the complaint to the Cantonment Police. The police have initiated steps to register a case and will soon record the complainant’s statement. The alleged incident took place about five days ago, as per initial information.

In a separate incident, Ernakulam Principal Sessions Judge Honey M Varghese acquitted actor Dileep of the offences charged against him in the case after the trial that lasted around eight years. Dileep was the eighth accused in the case.

The court, however, has found the accused from no. 1 to no. 6 guilty and will pronounce punishment for those found guilty on December 12.
