Inmate allegedly attacks Poojappura jail officials over amount of 'mutton curry' served for lunch

Thiruvananthapuram: Unsatisfied with the amount of food served, an inmate of the Poojappura Central Jail, Thiruvananthapuram, allegedly attacked prison officials.

Wayanad native Faijasi, accused in a drug case, attacked prison officials for not serving him enough mutton curry during lunch on Saturday. He attacked the deputy jailer and other officials, claimed jail sources.

Last Saturday, every inmate was served 100 grams of mutton curry as part of the lunch menu. Unsatisfied with the amount of curry served, Faijasi climbed to the top of a tower and created a scene. He attacked the officials while they tried to calm him down, authorities said.

Based on a complaint filed by jail authorities, the Poojappura police filed a case against him.
