Inebriated driver sleeps parking lorry on middle of road, causes public nuisance

Thenmala: An inebriated driver parked his lorry on the middle of Kollam-Thirumangalam National Highway and slept inside the vehicle, creating a nuisance for public. The incident happened on Wednesday evening. The lorry carrying cement from Tamil Nadu stopped on the middle of the road when it reached in front of Government High School in Ottakkal and the driver dozed off inside the vehicle. 

The helper of the lorry hopped on another vehicle and left the place after getting into a fight with the driver. The locals looked inside the lorry to see what the matter was and found the driver sleeping. He woke up after a while and tried to drive forward with the lorry but couldn’t. It tried to move backwards, causing a threat to the vehicles that were lined up behind the lorry. The lorry was then safely parked along the side of the NH and the driver was taken into custody by Thenmala police who arrived at the spot. The police informed that a case has been registered against the man.
