Thiruvananthapuram: As the discussions regarding the ministerial reshuffle in the NCP progress, Minister A K Saseendran said that he will resign his post if and only MLA Thomas K Thomas takes charge as the Minister. “If there is no possibility of Thomas K Thomas becoming a minister, why should I resign,” asked A K Saseendran.

“I have informed the people of Kerala, party workers and leadership through the media that I am ready to take whatever step is necessary to make Thomas the Minister. I said this when the issue was first discussed at the national leadership," he said.

“But if there is no possibility of him taking charge, what and who gets the benefit? If I resign, it means I am protesting against the Chief Minister's decision. I am not interested in taking such a political decision,” Saseendran told the media.

On Tuesday night, Thomas K Thomas, P C Chacko and Prakash Karat had a meeting at NCP President Sharad Pawar's residence. The unofficial discussions were on matters related to the change of ministers. However, no decision was announced regarding the Minister post.

Thomas K Thomas has responded to the media confirming that no big decision was made at the meeting with the senior leaders. Although he tried to discuss it again on Wednesday, an appointment could not be made. So returned home in the early hours of the morning.
