ICU sexual assault case: Survivor collapses during protest in Kozhikode, hospitalised

Kozhikode: The survivor in the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital (MCH) ICU sexual assault case collapsed while staging a protest in front of the Commissioner’s office here on Wednesday.
The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. She was rushed to Kottaparambu Government Hospital and later shifted to Beach Hospital by action council representatives Naushad Tekkayil and V P Suhar. She was later discharged from the hospital.
The survivor resumed her protest on Monday after North Zone IG K Sethuraman failed to hand over a copy of the probe report on gynaecologist Dr. K V Preethi to her.
Earlier, in a complaint filed with the Kerala Chief Minister, the survivor alleged that Dr K V Preethi, the gynaecologist who was part of the committee formed for probing the sexual assault incident, failed to record key parts of her statements.
Following that, on April 21, the DGP directed the IG to look into the matter. Later that day, the Action Council met with IG and communicated their needs. This is when he promised to produce a probe report within three days, following which the survivor ended her protest on April 23.
However, even after five days, when the action council and survivor did not receive any notifications, they began their protest in front of the commissioner's office.
