Human sacrifice: Uma Thomas remembers PT’s private bill against superstitions and black magic
Kochi: Thrikkakara MLA and Congress leader Uma Thomas on Wednesday took to Facebook to recall her late husband and party veteran PT Thomas’s private bill against superstitions and black magic in the wake of Elanthoor 'human sacrifice' case.
In her Facebook post Uma shared a video of PT presenting the bill and noted that the government should intervene with immediate effect to have a policy against superstitions and evil practices. She added that Thoma always took a tough stand against such practices and that’s why he pushed a private bill in his capacity.
ദുർമന്ത്രവാദത്തിൻ്റെയും അന്ധവിശ്വാസങ്ങളുടെയും പേരിൽ ഇന്ന് കേരളത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്നത് ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളാണ്. ഒരു നിയമ നിർമ്മാണം നടത്തി അന്ധവിശ്വാസങ്ങളും അനാചാരങ്ങളും നിരോധിക്കേണ്ടത് ഇന്ന് അടിയന്തര പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ള വിഷയമായി മാറുകയാണ്. ഈ വിഷയങ്ങളെ പി ടി വളരെ ഗൗര പൂർവ്വമാണ് നോക്കി കണ്ടിരുന്നത്.. അത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെയാണ് അന്ധവിശ്വാസങ്ങളും അനാചാരങ്ങളും നിരോധിക്കണം എന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് പി ടി നിയമസഭയിൽ ഒരു സ്വകാര്യ ബില്ല് അവതരിപ്പിക്കാൻ തയ്യാറായതും. ഇത്തരം സാഹചര്യങ്ങളുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ സർക്കാർ അടിയന്തരമായി നിയമ നിർമ്മാണം നടത്താൻ തയ്യാറാവണം..
