2 held in suspected human sacrifice of elderly man, newborn in Idukki

Kattapana: The police received shocking information about human sacrifice while questioning the accused in a theft case here. 

According to the information received, the accused, Vishnu Vijayan (27) and Rajesh alias Nitheesh (31) have killed two people and buried their bodies. 

The accused, Vishnu Vijayan, allegedly killed his father Vijayan and his sister’s newborn and buried their bodies under the floor of their old house near Sagara Junction, Kattappana. The evidence collected by the police also revealed connections to the practice of black magic and sorcery.

The newborn baby was taken away from the mother on the pretext of giving it to a ‘Gandharvan’. Nitheesh, the father of the child, is the main brain behind the act.

On Saturday, Vishnu and Nitheesh were taken into custody by the Kattappana Police in connection with a case of theft at a workshop in the city. The workshop owner's son, while returning from a trip on Monday, caught them red-handed.

The police received information regarding human sacrifice during the questioning, and their house in Kanchiyar is under police surveillance.
