Human Rights Commission demands investigation against Elathur police

Elathur: Human Rights Commission demands investigation against Elathur police in connection with a case filed by a social worker .Human Rights Commission acting chairman and judicial member K Baijunath has ordered the city police commissioner to conduct an investigation regarding this matter and submit the report within 15 days.
According to UV Adam of Eranjikkal, a social worker, Elathur police had misbehaved with him as he sought their support to take a mentally retarded mother and daughter to the hospital in an ambulance.
As the driver of the ambulance insisted on the presence of the police while taking the mentally retarded mom and daughter to the hospital, Adam had approached Elathur police station and asked for their assistance. According to his complaint, he was ill treated by the police and they also had filed a case against him too.
The case will be taken up during the sitting to be held in the first week of April at Kozhikode government guest house. This investigation was prompted based on the complaint filed by UV Adam of Eranjikkal.
