Heavy rain damages Ponmudi road; hillstation isolated

Thiruvananthapuram: Popular tourist spot Ponmudi hill isolated from the mainland on Monday after a spot in the ghat road to the location slides away.

A dearth was formed at the twelfth turn on the road in the afternoon due to heavy rains.

It is unclear at the moment how many tourists are trapped on the hill. Besides, estate workers and staff of KTDC are also stranded on the hill.
