Hearbreaking, ADM Naveen Babu was an honest official, says Minister Veena George

Pathanamthitta: Kannur district panchayat president PP Divya faces yet another setback from her own party as Health Minister Veena George says that Naveen Babu was an honest official with whom she has had a long-standing relationship, as well as with his family. She made these comments to reporters after visiting the home of ADM Naveen Babu, who was found dead by hanging inside his quarters at Pallikkunnu, Kannur, on Tuesday.

“Naveen Babu was an uncorrupt official who could be entrusted with any task. During his service in Pathanamthitta, he cooperated with every initiative of the Revenue Department. In the challenging times of floods and Covid, he worked diligently and played a crucial role in coordinating government activities. It is heartbreaking to learn of this tragedy. Personally, this situation is very distressing for me,” the minister said.

“He was not a corrupt official. In fact, he was a sincere and dedicated public servant. The government could rely on him for any assignment. For those who knew him, and even for those who met him at least once, Naveen Babu’s death is profoundly painful. The government will conduct a comprehensive investigation into this matter. The Revenue Minister has already mentioned this, and CPM Kannur district secretary MV Jayarajan has also echoed the same sentiment,” Veena George said.

When reporters inquired whether PP Divya's display during the farewell meeting was appropriate, the minister said that all aspects would be examined thoroughly. “It would be inappropriate to discuss matters in the home of the deceased,” she said.
