Thiruvananthapuram: Health minister K K Shailaja said that the COVID resistance activities were fruitful but we cannot state that everything is over. The job is not finished, but has only multiplied. The resistance activities yielded good results and it is a happy news, the minister said. The minister was attending calls at Disha Call Centre when it  completed one lakh calls.

People are still coming from other states and countries. We have to take care of them individually. There may be positive cases among them. But tracing them is more important. If such persons are screened at medical check-up and given treatment at hospitals, they can be saved from death and disease transmission also can be prevented, the minister said.

The health minister also stated that a priority has been set in bringing back the Keralites from other places. Those who lost jobs, those who have expired visa, pregnant women and people in need of medical help are given priority. People are repatriated on the basis of priority and no quota is allotted for the states yet, the minister said.

The minister also appreciated the media and their role in COVID resistance. The media is reporting the COVID guidelines properly and the people get information from the reports. This must continue without fail, the minister added.
