Salam hits back at Sudhakaran, blaming him for the ouster of Gouri Amma

Alappuzha: H Salam MLA has come out lashing against former minister and senior CPM leader G Sudhakaran. While training his guns on the veteran leader of the district in connection with his remarks against the party in the district, Salam has said that everybody knows the root cause behind the ouster of KR Gouri Amma from the party. Without directly mentioning the name of Sudhakaran, the sitting MLA of Ambalappuzha has said that if someone goes in search of the root cause behind the ouster of Gouri Amma, one would be forced to reveal so many things.
“Communist politics had suffered a huge setback in Alappuzha district when Gouri Amma had left the party. However, the party survived that setback. One should not pretend that people might have forgotten it as it was an old story. G Sudhakaran is one of the most respected leaders of CPM in the district and the state. But, he keeps on saying something in public for some time now which a person with a party membership should not say. It is quite intriguing why he keeps on saying this. Even Gouri Amma was not being treated like him as he had fought seven elections. Besides, he also had held many responsible positions in the party as well, “ said Salam.
“If I do anything to malign the party in which I believe, I would be a political criminal,” Salam said. “Nobody should do such a thing. It is some sort of a political criminalism to criticise a party in which one believes so that political rivals of the party would be benefited,” he said. Earlier, while speaking to the media Sudhakaran had said that the media in Alappuzha is in the hands of political criminals.
Following the drubbing received during the parliament election, Sudhakaran had come out criticising the party and the leadership. He had also said that there were no corruption allegations against the BJP ministers and Modi is a strong leader. Ever since he was denied a ticket in the 2021 assembly elections and a place in the state committee of the party following the age-limit guidelines, Sudhakaran used to criticise the party as and when he wished to.
