Kozhikode: The Congress candidate from Edakkad ward, Kozhikode Corporation has emerged as a notable presence in the local election landscape, largely due to her longstanding community involvement. Alongside her work at an agency that handles Motor Vehicles Department-related tasks, she has spent years delivering newspapers, selling milk and offering tuition to children, helping her build strong personal connections across the ward.

During her door-to-door campaigning at Parayidath, residents welcomed her warmly. She emphasised that her deep-rooted familiarity with the area stems from visiting every household regularly, allowing her to maintain close relationships with local families. She noted that the reception since becoming a candidate has been overwhelmingly positive, with residents treating her as one of their own.

Her educational background includes a B.Com degree from MES Women’s College, Nadakkavu. Her involvement in public service began with the Kerala Students Union (KSU), after which she went on to serve as the Youth Congress Edakkad Mandalam Secretary, focusing on youth welfare and community initiatives.

The candidate’s campaign platform prioritises practical development goals such as improving basic infrastructure, strengthening waste management systems and introducing welfare-focused projects for youth, women and senior citizens. Her daily interactions in the ward have contributed significantly to the support she is receiving.

Locally known as the ‘newspaper girl’, she continues a grassroots campaign supported by party workers. Her consistent presence in the community and her habit of addressing residents by name have helped build trust and voter confidence.

Her blend of community service, early political involvement and focus on local issues forms the foundation of her election strategy. By maintaining a steady door-to-door outreach, she demonstrates how familiarity and sustained engagement can translate into strong electoral backing in Kerala’s local polls.
