Govt sanctions Rs 90 crores to KSRTC for October pension and salary dues

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has sanctioned Rs 90 crore to KSRTC to disburse salary and pension. Rs 70 crore will be allocated to pay the October pension dues and Rs 20 crore is for the second instalment of salary for the same month. The amount is expected to be credited by Monday. 

The High Court has directed that the pension arrears be settled by November 30. If not, the Chief Secretary will need to explain to the court. Rs 37 crore is required to pay the October salary in full.

In addition to the Rs 20 crore sanctioned by the government, Rs 12 crore will be raised through bank overdraft. The rest needs to be covered by KSRTC.
