Thenhipalam: SFI protest in Calicut University against Kerala Governor continues in full swing. Protestors jumped over the barricades, creating tensions. Sloganeering against Arif Mohammed Khan echoed in the campus, while he was attending a seminar in the university building. Students displayed banners against the Governor by even climbing on top of the ‘Pareeksha Bhavan’.

As Arif Mohammed Khan left the campus, SFI workers protested for a brief while by blocking the national highway. Police intervened and dispersed the crowd. Apparently, there will be more protests against the Governor as he lands in Thiruvananthapuram.

“Mr Governor is yet to realise the might of SFI in Kerala. We will protest relentlessly for sure. This a fight between Kerala and the RSS. The Governor should always remember that there are just around 16,000 police personnel in the state, but look at SFI’s membership, we are 16 lakh people. Never forget that,” said Arsho.

CPM Malappuram district committee members expressed their solidarity with protesting students and joined their march.

Meanwhile, Arif Mohammed Khan described the students protesting against him as being criminals. The veteran wondered whether students would dare to do such acts if Pinarayi was attending a function in the campus. He also cited a Kerala high court ruling banning protests and banners inside university campuses in the state.

“I am only accountable to the President of India. Pinarayi Vijayan has actually hired these goons to attack me. So many of them are not even students,” said the Kerala Governor.

Amidst the mayhem, Arif Mohammed Khan however did not forget to praise the Kerala police, he rated them as being one of the best forces in the entire country.
