Electric bus row: Amid flak, KB Ganesh Kumar says he is being targeted

Thiruvananthapuram: Transport minister K.B Ganesh Kumar on Tuesday said that he will not make any further decisions regarding electric buses. He clarified that the study on the report related to the profit and loss of electric buses is being carried out and if there is anything to report, the officials will do so.
After the minister’s statement that electric buses in Thiruvananthapuram city were running at a loss, a lot of criticism came his way. Ganesh Kumar’s current remarks come in the circumstance where the CPM has also taken a stand against him.
“I do not want to harm anyone. But some people have their intentions set to hurt me. I have no objection as I mostly speak the truth. I will not make any more decisions,” Ganesh Kumar said.
After assuming the post of transport minister, Ganesh Kumar said that the KSRTC doesn’t need e-buses and that they are running at a loss. This statement of his was not supported by the Left Front and CPM state secretary M.V Govindan rejected the minister’s position.
Following this, information regarding electric buses appeared in the media, which further angered the minister.
