Kochi: Former BJP office secretary Tirur Satheesh has reaffirmed his statements regarding the Kodakara hawala case. He also asserted that he will continue his legal battle to uncover the truth. His response came after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a chargesheet in the PMLA court in Kaloor in connection with the case.

"BJP leaders are being protected by the ED. What happened is an act of treason. The ED has not contacted me so far. I do not even know whether I have been made a witness in the case," Tirur Satheesh added.

His revelations about the case had placed the BJP state leadership in a difficult position. Satheesh had earlier claimed that during the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, six crore rupees were brought to the BJP Thrissur district office in four sacks. He also alleged that the money was brought by a man named Dharmarajan, who had delivered hawala money and later met the BJP state and district presidents at the party office.

According to the chargesheet, the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) investigation into the Kodakara hawala case focused solely on the black money transaction related to the highway robbery. The investigation did not extend to the aspect of election funding. The ED’s chargesheet states that the money looted was an amount Dharmarajan had set aside to purchase land in Alappuzha.

The ED’s chargesheet directly contradicts the police chargesheet, which had stated that the money was brought to Kerala as BJP’s election fund. The ED claims that its investigation was limited to the black money transaction following the highway robbery. According to the ED, the amount stolen was ₹3.5 crore, which Dharmarajan was carrying to purchase land in Alappuzha. The agency did not investigate or establish any findings to support the claim that this money was BJP's election fund. Instead, the chargesheet only mentions that Dharmarajan disclosed the origin of the amount.
