Kambalur (Kasaragod): A case was registered by the Kerala Forest Department against the KSEB employees who trespassed into the Aakacheri forest and verbally abused officials who questioned them. The case has been registered against KSEB employees Sanal P, Sadanandan, Jijo Thomas, Shijo, Salash and contractor Mohanan.

The incident in connection with the case happened on Monday evening. When a temporary employee of the forest department stopped the KSEB employees in a vehicle from entering the forest without permission, they disregarded his words and went near the waterfall within the forest. This prompted the forest department to register a case against them.

Many visitors frequent the waterfall in Aakacheri forest during holidays. Many of them enter the forest without seeking prior permission. It is also common for these visitors to bring alcoholic drinks and food along and spend an entire day in the forest. The prevalence of such practices led the Forest department to impose restrictions to enter the forest area.
