Forest department launches ‘Ayyan’ app for Sabarimala pilgrims

Pattambi: Sabarimala pilgrims will now get a handy app for their journey to Sannidhanam. As a part of the ‘Mandala Makaravilakku Utsavam’ for the year 2023-24, the forest department has launched a mobile app ‘Ayyan’ to help the pilgrims. The app was developed under the leadership of the Periyar Tiger Reserve West division.
The app provides information about various services available to devotees visiting Sabarimala. The services available in Pampa, Sannidhanam, Swami Ayyappan road, Pampa-Neelimala-Sannidhanam, Erumely-Azhutha Kadavu-Pampa, Satram-Uppupara-Sannidhanam routes can be known through this app.
The ‘Ayyan’ app, which can be installed from the Google Play store is available in five languages- Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi. The app can also be downloaded by scanning the QR code at the gates of Kanana Patha.
The general guidelines to be followed by the pilgrims, information about the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and information about Sabarimala temple are available in the app. Emergency numbers are also included. There is no internet service or phone signal in many places along the forest route. As a solution to this problem, the ‘Ayyan’ app will work both online and offline. Various alerts will also be sent to pilgrims based on their selected routes.
