New Delhi: The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) has said that the investigation into the monthly payment case involving Exalogic Solutions, owned by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter, Veena Vijayan, is nearing completion. The report is expected to be submitted to the central government within two weeks. The Centre can then decide whether to take up the case based on the report, according to the affidavit filed by the SFIO in the Delhi High Court.

The affidavit specifies that the SFIO is conducting an independent investigation, separate from the Interim Boards for Settlement’s investigation. Statements from 20 individuals, including Veena Vijayan, and Saran S. Kartha, son of Sasidharan Kartha, have been recorded. The affidavit states that prosecution proceedings could commence if the government grants approval.

The SFIO has also sought the dismissal of a petition by the Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL). In the petition, CMRL argued that the monthly installment transactions had already been resolved by the Income Tax Interim Boards for Settlement, making further investigation unnecessary. The petition also requested that documents seized by the Income Tax Department not be shared with other investigative bodies.
