Kottayam: The investigation into the controversy surrounding the leak of EP Jayarajan’s autobiography is now complete, with police preparing to file a chargesheet in court. Former DC Books editor A V Sreekumar is the only person accused in the case, though questions remain about the reasons behind the leak and those involved.

The investigation, led by Kottayam East Police, has reached its final stages, with only technical procedures left before the chargesheet is filed. Authorities have confirmed that no additional individuals will be named in connection with the leak.

A V Sreekumar: The sole accused

A V Sreekumar, former head of DC Books’ publication department, is the sole accused in the case. However, there is still uncertainty about why Sreekumar leaked the book and who may have given the order. While the police have previously indicated that the leak could not have been a solo effort and that there may have been a conspiracy, no further details have been revealed.

Timing of leak sparks questions

Another key aspect of the investigation is the timing of the leak, which occurred on election day. Sreekumar has claimed that he was made a scapegoat, stating that he only carried out the task assigned to him and had no ulterior motives. However, police have reportedly not taken his statement seriously, suggesting that further clarification may emerge once the chargesheet is submitted.
