Edappal: Youth lights firecrackers in junction, people panic

Edappal: Two men burst firecrackers in the traffic circle on the busy road under the Edappal flyover. A part of the newly built roundabout was destroyed in the cracker burst. The incident took place at around 7:15 pm on Tuesday.

Police officials investigated the place. CCTV visuals from the area show two youth arriving on a bike and one of them lighting the cracker, police said.

People panicked after hearing a loud noise and suspected it to be an explosion. Things became clear after seeing the CCTV footage.
